The existence of hyacinth plants has a positive impact on the community, which organic fertilizer, animal feed, and handicraft materials. But on the other side, it has a negative impact that can affect social, economic, and environmental activities, one of them is the destruction of community agricultural products due to the disruption of hyacinth plants which are agricultural pests, and there is silting of swamps caused by the uncontrollable growth of hyacinth plants. This silting causes floods in the water storage power in Rawa Pening, which often happen in the rainy season.

The webgis dashboard shows the spread of hyacinth became controlled by the end of 2021 due to the government’s focus on the revitalization of Rawa Pening Lake through the National Priority Lake Rescue Team led by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment (@kemenkomarves).

The monitoring method uses sentinel-2 satellite imagery with a composite band, namely SWIR-NIR-RED (B11-B8-B4).
